5 Pot is our go-to family favorite. Our kids are picky eaters, but they love 5 Pot, especially the tomato and bone-based broth. You can taste the quality in every bite, and we feel good knowing it's made with clean, healthy ingredients. The owner, Mike, puts so much care into the bone broth, and it shows. Through this incredible experience, he's even become a good friend. The weight-based pricing makes it affordable and flexible, which is rare these days. We've brought friends, and they're always impressed. Great food, great people, and a place we trust. I can't recommend it enough.

I just went to 5 Pot recently with my friends and was glad to experience something new! This place reminds me of Mongolian barbecue, but with soup. You start with grabbing all your ingredients, then having them weighed (and thereafter paying for your meal), and then having the staff cook the meal for you. They then bring it out to you in a big bowl. You can get your food in broth or as a dry dish. The ingredients you can pick from it pretty varied . It's not unlimited choices, but I thought the choices were good enough. The food is weird so that 1 pound equates to $15.99. (don't worry. They account for the bowl in advance.) You get your sauces on the side . And there's complementary water and (juice/tea?) that is self service. Overall, I enjoyed my meal here. Interesting concept. I feel like you have to know how much you eat since it be awkward to go back to the bar to get more food and half the staff cook for you in the back again. lol! I found plenty of free street parking across the street near target .

We tried this place recently and loved it! The concept is straight forward and everyone can choose what they like. You're able to fill a bowl of uncooked veggies, meats, etc. that is then weighed and charged for by the pound. Unlike traditional pot there's no cooking at the table, they instead cook it for you in their kitchen and bring it back to your table cooked. Broth flavors were tasty, we chose original which had mild spice. They also have a DIY sauce bar, and all of the options for mixing were really good. Staff were kind and helpful. We will be back for sure.

Clean quiet but there was only one staff in front and she messed up our broth order. There's only four broths, and we repeated multiple times but it was still wrong- then we found out afterwards you are supposed to confirm your broth on your receipt. So instead of spicy and tomato we got - bone and original. The original was great, the bone one smells a little. We did not like bone broth. It was a little weird as a first time there. You walk in and there's no signs or anyone to tell you the process . So we asked the people in front of us and they told us what to do. Weird since they have a cashier- so the first part was some bowls and things for you to get all the ingredients you want in your hot pot and they charge by the pound, a flat rate. Then you get to the end of the food stations into the sauces and unlike Mongolian you do not use that for your raw ingredients and instead that is the sauce bar. Then the cashier weighs and takes your order for the broth. You then find a seat and wait. She brought out the order and when we found out that the broth was wrong we noted and she just pointed to the receipt and basically said this is your food eat it! lol. Utensils and napkins are brought to you but water and dipping sauce is self serve. After you finish you go back to the cashier and pay. Very broken flow I hope they put some signs up or become more efficient. The cashier and runner and busser was one person. I also saw customers walk in and sit down confused and waiting for someone for 15 mins and no help. A table next to us had dirty soup bowls sitting there for over 30 mins - just not sanitary. The food bar was good and over all it was clean but there are many areas to consider to improve efficiency and clarity.

I've been coming here for about two years now with my family and friends, and every time the quality and selection never disappoints. My family and I have ordered take-out as well as dined in, and both have always been met with over the top excellence. The quality of meat, selection of vegetables, as well as the variety of broth to choose from according to your craving is phenomenal. My favorite is their lamb, quail eggs, bok choy, sesame sauce, and might I add bottomless passionfruit juice to pair with your cozy bowl of steamy hotpot?! I also work nearby, so even my co workers are hooked. The owner is nice, and every customer is greeted with a welcome and a smile. Highly recommend if you're in the area, and want to satisfy your hot pot craving in a nice cozy corner of Pasadena.

Good option if you want fast, more affordable, and personalized hot pot. But fyi, the selections is not alot (Items may not always be there), not everything will be cooked all the way like pumpkin and lotus root, their broth is not spicy at all, and it can get a bit pricey if you're not careful. However, they offer complimentary juice and they have a decent sauce station.

The broth is what this place is all about. I got the spicy one and added all the ingredients. I liked the choices of meats and veggies. There were so many. This is more of a lunch spot but a bit pricey for a regular weekday lunch. I may or may not be back but definitely worth a try once.

Man I LOVE self serve hot pot places, and got to say this is my favorite one in Pasadena!! Walking in on a Saturday afternoon, the owner kindly greeted us and showed us how to order as it was our first time there. Basically you put what ingredients and additions you want in your soup after choosing a base, and the amount you pay is based on the weight. I gotta warn you, you get way too tempted to order too much hahah, as I DEFINITELY did!! I almost paid about 40 for one bowl but do I regret it- NO!! It was so good ahahah I got the bone broth and my partner got the original. The toppings were so good, chinese donut, lobster balls, assorted amount of veggies and noodles. Definitely coming here again when the weather gets cooler!

First time trying 5 Pot customize Chinese hot pot and it was so good. Let me share the nitty gritty details so you all know what to expect. Location: it's on Colorado blvd, between oak knoll Ave and s Hudson Ave. Parking: free 1 hour street parking and its was pretty available on a Thursday's afternoon. Atmosphere: it is a small restaurant, it can maybe accommodate up to around 20 people. It is also very clean. How it works: you walk in and grab a bowl and a tong. You pick and choose what you want on your hotpot. It is very customizable for seafood lover, meat lover, and even vegetarian! Once you're done, your bowl will be scaled and you pay by the weights. Once your bowl is scaled and you choose a broth, the staff brings it to the back to cook. The food and drinks: when food is ready, the staff serves you a giant hotpot bowl. You can also make a customize sauce at the sauce station. They also provide free water and in-house passion fruit drink and the in-house drink was awesome! The hotpot was really good, all the seafood they have were high quality and cooked well! Overall: Highly recommend you try this place. Must be new cause this is the first time I heard of them. I shall be back soon!
